Description
PITCCH operates through the PITCCH Open Innovation platform. If you are a legal entity, you can register, create your profile, showcase your competences, and search for partners.
Registration is open to:
- Challenge owners: like big corporations willing to submit a Challenge. Challenges are technological requests outlining the need to develop a new product, process or service and/or to improve an existing product, process or service;
- Challenge solvers: SMEs or start-ups capable of proposing technological solutions based on advanced technologies;
- Challenge facilitators: such as technology centers, interested in offering their competences and services to support SMEs and start-ups in developing solutions addressing Challenges. Services range from but are not limited to feasibility study, technology advice, testing, validation, prototyping, technology positioning and/or access to specialised infrastructure and equipment;
- Ecosystem support organizations: like business and innovation support agencies, DIHs, Cluster organizations, EEN offices/Chambers of commerce and industry, universities, science and technology parks, associations or networks, incubators/accelerators, regional/national public authorities, eager to disseminate Open Innovation opportunities among their local, national, or sectorial ecosystems.
Challenges are addressed to Challenge solvers working with advanced technologies (including but not limited to: advanced manufacturing, industrial biotechnology, digital technologies, connectivity, mobility, nanotechnology, micro and nano-electronics, internet of things (IoT), robotics, blockchain, cloud computing, big data, artificial intelligence, and security).
In the last two years, PITCCH has selected and published 16 Corporate Challenges, and it became the springboard of 13 Open Innovation collaborations. The PITCCH network will continue its efforts of open innovation promotion and will publish more Challenges starting from 2023!
Challenge rules
In the case of open Challenges, the following evaluation process applies:
● Eligibility check, performed by the PITCCH consortium.
● Evaluation of solution proposals, performed by a panel appointed by the Challenge owner (e.g., R&D, or technical/engineering, operations, marketing, and management departments).
In case of an open Challenge, all proposers are invited to carefully read the challenges and the challenge regulation, available at PITCCH Open Innovation platform, before submitting a solution.
By submitting a solution, you will be subjected to the regulations and Terms of Use of our platform.
Award
Award contribution is dependent on the Challenge owner. In the former challenges, winners were funded up to 10.000 EUR of cash prize!
IP rights
The selected Challenge solver shall enter into a collaboration agreement with the Challenge owner, and, where necessary, with the selected Challenge facilitators for the implementation of the collaborative project.
The agreement shall regulate the collaboration between the parties, including specifications of the project and other matters (i.e., knowledge ownership, intellectual property, and exploitation of results).
What happens next?
BY SIGNING UP TO OPENINNOVABILITY.COM AND THEN CLICKING ON THE BUTTON “SUBMIT YOUR SOLUTION” YOU’LL BE REDIRECTED TO PITCCH WEBSITE. An eligibility check of the compliance to the challenge participation requirements will be performed. Eligible proposals will be reviewed and evaluated by the Challenge owners. At most, ten solution providers will be invited to the PITCCH Day, where they will pitch their solutions. In preparation to the PITCCH Day, pitch and IP trainings will be delivered by the PITCCH consortium. Challenge facilitators, taking part to the PITCCH network, can also assist Challenge solvers in the preparation for the PITCCH Day with technology advice. The winning challenge solver will be informed and invited to initiate the Open Innovation collaboration with the Challenge owner and, if applicable, with the selected Challenge facilitators.
